“I wish every great lawyer should be like my senior” “A criminal lawyer with uncompromising intellectual honesty”

I am too little to write this page about my senior.  Criminal law was set at mercy of the queen as she behaved  the queen of England has no permanent enemy nor has any permanent friend but she got only permanent interest. Personal liberty was achieved by the Lords of this country by the pragmatic changes ever since after our independence. Nonetheless I can, but respect my senior Sri. Sasthamangalam S Ajithkumar who made me to understand the criminal law at its scenario.

My senior used to pay me an amount of  Rs 20/- on all Saturdays. [ A standard meal was Rs. 12/- in the Bar Association canteen at that time ].  I used to drink pipe water during noon at the court premises after conducting sessions trials.  When I cried for food he shouted me you go and read “Roses in December” I never read that book . Still I am afraid  to read: because I  know what should be the sufferings of a  lawyer started his practice in the Supreme  Court at the independence era and I also understood a good lawyer should drink pipe water.  If I cry more for my lunch, He would say “a day will come to you dear ” Now I understand how much and how much He loved me and made me useful  to the Judiciary. He taught me. Now I understand how the lure of money can be a corrupting influence on junior lawyers.  I like every great lawyer should be like my senior.

A man of uncompromising intellectual honesty that never surrendered to any one ; He gave me all  entertainments. He never answered any of my legal queries rather would say go and read.   I used to cleans his shoes and take his clothes to the laundry to get some money. But He never changed his mind from Rs. 20/-. My book “Miranda On Criminal Major Acts” was sherely  out of my personal sufferings on my junior days.  No digest was available on that day yet I could compile all the judgments of the Kerala High court on the Subject.

Law is the final wisdom. No one can induce it. No one can insist it  but one can inspire whom I call a senior or a guru: That is my senior Sasthamangalam S Ajithkumar.

No good lawyer should get married  and spoil her life too,   Law is a jealous mistress : My  sincere advice to the legal fraternity , I believe.

No senior will ever receive a first copy of the book written by His junior officially. A gem of the man, I pray for His good health in my daily prayers. Check out the pictures.
